The New York Times ran this piece on Sunday about how new entrepreneurs are having a difficult time adjusting to the so-called life of their dreams.
They're finding out that it's not easy, it's not a cake walk. In fact, it's a lot of hard work and long hours. And not a whole lot else.
Um...this is news?
You mean, the whole starting my own business, doing something unconventional and living on my own terms is hard? What?!
You mean that people aren't throwing money at me, just because I'm awesome?
You mean this is actually work?
I could have sent that press release out a long time ago.
Here's a fact: living the life of your dreams is a radical act.
It's hard work. It's effort. It's coming up with things that nobody else in your life understands and doing them anyway.
If it was easy, everyone would be doing it.
And where would the fun be in that?
