guest post from Deanna: Can being scared make you happy?
Hi friends! Are you loving the guest post series? Yeah...I know what you're thinking, and you're right, I DO know some amazing, fantastic people! Today's post comes from sweet Deanna who I "met" about 100 years ago shortly after I started blogging. We've seen each other through a lot of changes and it's been great for us to support each other on our creative journeys! Deanna, welcome to the blog, it's wonderful to have you here! xox
Can Being Scared Make You Happy?
Well, not if you’re scared because you’re being chased by a serial killer in a hockey mask, but I think the answer is YES. It must, however, be an impetus to move towards your goals in order to be qualified as happy-making.
Good-scared should be a motivator. I get scared whenever I am sharing something online (hey! like now). It makes me feel vulnerable, but I know it pushes me to do better work and to keep going.
I’m scared of failure but sharing online pushes me to do the best I can. It pushes me to get things out of my head and make them real. For me, the only failure is to not do something.
I am working on becoming my own boss and it scares the bejeezus outta me, and I’ve never been happier! so, see? Being scared CAN make you happy!
What do you do that scares you and makes you happy at the same time?
I’m Deanna. It’s nice to meet you. I’m the owner of Apples and Orange studio. I am an artist and printmaker inspired by nature. My husband says I make the best grilled-cheese sandwiches in the world. If you want to know how I do it, drop me a line and I’ll fill you in.
