Happy New Year my friends!
I have a list of non-resolutions to share with you. I'm horrible at keeping New Year's resolutions, but I do think that the new year is such an important time to look back and reflect on where you are in your life as well as where you want to be headed.
So, instead of listing out a bunch of resolutions, I give you my hopes for 2011.
This year, I hope to honor myself: mind, body and spirit.
I will read for the sake of learning as well as for the sake of just reading. I will write something every day, even if it's a letter to a friend I haven't talked to in a while. I will let my self get lost in things and will stop trying to live my life within the parameters of 140 characters.
I will honor and care fo my body as I would care for a good friend. I will love it for what it is and will treat it with respect and affection. I will take care of it with exercise and real food and will rest when I need to. I will wear shorter skirts and will celebrate myself.
I will surround myself with beauty and will take the time to both notice and document the beauty that constantly surrounds me. I will fill my life and my time with people, places and things that feed my soul. I will rid myself of the things in my life which no longer serve me -- relationships, possessions and habits, in an attempt to make room for things that actually allow me to grow.
I will undertake all of these things as a way to honor myself, my wholeness and to live out my most unique, true and strong life.
